Will It Ever Be Reciprocated?

Will It Ever Be Reciprocated?
As parents, especially Christian parents, we often pour ourselves out for our children since the time they're born, sleepless nights, constant prayers, sacrifices we never speak of. We upgrade their lives, guide their steps, and try to give them what we never had, not out of obligation, but out of love that reflects God’s heart.

But there’s a quiet ache sometimes:

  • Will they ever look back and give the same?
  • Will they one day check in on us the way we checked in on them?
  • Will they pray for us, care for us, carry us when we’re tired?

The truth is, they may never fully understand all we did, but will that be okay for us?

Remember Christian parenting isn’t transactional but sacrificial, one that reflects the love of Christ, who gave all, not because we deserved it or could repay it, but because love givesJesus said in Luke 6:35: “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great…”

If that’s true for enemies, how much more for our own? And Yet… God , In His grace, often allows love to be returned to parents in time , through a child's quiet thank yous or "how was work today?", or "how are you?"or are you okay?

Somtimes as a parent you want them to see their
faithfulness to God, which is the fruit of our prayers. Even if our children never repay us the way we hoped, our reward is in HeavenGod sees every unseen act, every whispered prayer, every tear shed in secret. And He honours it. As Galatians 6:9 reminds us: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

A beautiful call, to walk with people  To share their tears, to lift a prayer, to stand with hope when none is there. Oh the joy our hearts...
