When I Needed It Most
When he left for distant skies,
I stepped into change with quiet sighs.
A new place, a new road, unfamiliar and wide,
But I carried my questions tucked deep inside.
Then slowly, gently, people came near...or did they
Not with fanfare, but with something clear...but not always
A message, a smile, a chat..
A shared time of joy that stayed for a while.
Some sat beside me, no words to say,
Just company to help ease the day.
Some simply asked, “How are you now?”
And in that moment, I knew somehow
That I wasn’t alone in this season of shift,
Some showed kindness as a blanket, a beautiful gift.
Not grand or loud, but deeply true,
In every act, they helped me through...in ways they do not know
Now I move again, with full heart and hand,
Not just to a place, but to understand
That love doesn’t need a reason or name,
It came when I needed, and quietly came.
And I’m grateful, so deeply, for all that they gave,
For the warmth, the care, the effort they made.
Al Khoudh was a stop but it will always stay,
Because of the love that lit the way.
